Under the leadership of section Chairman Simon Hancock the clubs aim is for the players to enjoy the game, this is evident with 3 senior teams playing over the weekend and 5 junior teams playing mid week.
Section membership is on the increase across the board, a sign that the section are doing things correctly and in the right spirit. The club holds the coveted accreditation ‘ClubMark’ an award that shows we are committed to providing coaching to a high standard thus ensuring that the juniors are in safe hands and are in a child focussed environment.
The junior section is run by ECB Level 3 coach Simon Hancock and Matt Morley (ECB Level 2) and their team of dedicated volunteers provide excellent coaching during the summer months taking place on Wednesdays from April through to August.
For the younger generation, ‘ALL STARS’ (5-8 year olds) is run on Friday Evenings and this provides an excellent introduction to the game while parents enjoy the superb surroundings.
The cricketers at Barnton are lucky enough to enjoy the superb facilities at Broomsedge, the envy of many visiting cricket clubs. The club has played host to numerous ‘big games’ over the past 132 years
particularly the visit of the world famous ‘Lashings XI’ in 2005. More recently we have hosted two T20 finals days one for the TACS Partnership Cricket League and the other for Cheshire Women’s cricket.
The sections number one aim is to reach the pinnacle of Cheshire Cricket while the juniors are looking to develop as they have been doing and provide the senior teams with an influx of players for the
future.
Would all Members and Visitors please note NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED ON THE CLUB GROUNDS for Health and Safety Reasons.
